May 23rd was deemed #143DayinPA! What is 143Day? Governor Wolf designated May 23rd (the 143 day of this year) as #143DayinPA to encourage fellow Pennsylvanians to share Acts of Kindness with their neighbors. The day is in honor of Mr. (Fred) Rogers, who regularly used 143 as his special code for “I Love You” – based on the number of letters in each word.
On this day, we are encouraged to do good deeds and be nice to one another. Every time you do something nice, no matter how small – hold open a door, give someone a compliment, buy someone a cup of coffee - use #143DayinPA. Our #TeamAOK did their part today to help spread the goodwill and make PA a nicer place to live!
Some of the neighborhood Acts Of Kindness performed by Team AOK included:
- Free carts available to customers at the local Aldi’s
- An envelope of quarters to customers at the local laundromat
- Bagged groceries in a reusable #TeamAOK bag at Top’s
- Handed out lip balm and hand sanitizer to members in our Drive-Thru
Everyone received information about 143 Day with hopes that they too will pass on simple acts of kindness!
