L.E.A.P. Financial Literacy classes at Youth Leadership Institute

Mar. 07, 2024

Financial literacy was the topic this week! As part of our employee VTO (Volunteer Time Off) program and in conjunction with the Life Experience Activities program (L.E.A.P.), our Chief Human Resources Officer, Tracey Cettin and our Director of Community Outreach, Katey Cross participated in the L.E.A.P. Financial Literacy classes held at the Youth Leadership Institute of Erie , which is housed in the former Hammermill Employees Federal Credit Union.

On Monday, our crew talked about different career paths available at the credit union (and in the job market) along with job interviewing and resume building tips. Other topics covered throughout the week were how to save money, read a pay stub, and budget for expenses and more. The differences between banks and credit unions were also discussed and the different types of accounts were explained. Thank you for having us! The students were amazing!

Together, we can make a difference!
